Release delayed a bit

The release is delayed for a little bit. In approximately one or two weeks this geocaching app will be available for your iPhone or iPad.

The review by Apple is not complete and the legal topics in Germany (founding a company) takes longer as expected.

On this place I want to speek out an acclamation to Groundspeak for thier fast communiation and the fast review of Looking4Cache.

Release comes closer

The beta tests for the first version are finished. The constructive criticism of the testers pushed the functions and handling of Looking4Cache.

At the moment the app is in review by Apple. If all gone well, the app will be released next week.

Beta tests started

This week the beta test phase started, so I have time to build this site. In the next days content like video tutorials and screenshots will be uploaded.

Offline maps

Since today one of the main features of a geocaching app is ready: offline maps!

You can create offline maps with programs like Mobile Atlas Creator (MOBAC) from different mapping providers, including OpenStreetMap. This maps you can transfer with iTunes to Looking4Cache. So there is no need for a 3G connection while caching.

Also it should be possible to use a iPod touch (from 2nd generation, because of gps via bluetooth) to find the caches.

iPhone version finished

The iPad version is ready since some days. Today i finished the iPhone version.

Outstanding some small improvements and the legal communication with Groundspeak and Apple. Release Date comes closer!
